The building has only a single customer and employee entrance. Each individual data center employee must check in with the security guards at the facility entrance, in the front lobby. Security is on site around the clock, along with engineering personnel. This is truly a 24 hr. data operations center. Security and fire alarms are located throughout the data center, and are constantly monitored in the security monitoring room, at the entrance to the building. Simultaneously, these alarms are monitored in the master control room, where all server activity is monitored. Additionally, video cameras, fire detectors, and electronic motion sensors are strategically placed throughout the entire facility. In addition to the security employee checks at the entrance checkpoint, access is controlled by state-of-the-art identification systems throughout the facility, including a biometric hand scanner, and card reader for operational personnel internal clearances to certain areas. These alarms and scanning devices are monitored and responded to, around the clock, by on-site security personnel. The entire facility is kept at a constant temperature and humidity by redundant cooling systems. This insures the very best climatic conditions for the servers. All wiring is beneath the raised floor. The sub floor is cement. Not only does this make climate control and air flow easier, but makes for better fire control and less equipment clutter. The shipping and receiving area (loading dock) at the rear of the building, is an isolated area, has a guard, and is inside a special staging area with a steel fence that has only one main building entrance. The area is very much like a "Jail Cell". New equipment arrivals, and personnel must go through many security checks to gain entrance to the rest of the building complex from the loading dock area (Jail Cell).
